Yes, the Dow is suffering, but mortgage rates have dropped again!   As of this week,  January 19, 2008, the 30 year fixed rate is at 5.625% with 0 points!  This is seriously good news for anyone thinking about making a housing change or who needs to refinance an adjustable rate mortage (this includes your's truly...)
